The lactam structure in PVP molecules has a strong binding force with hydroxyl, amino, carboxyl group. And dyes often contain these functional groups,so polyvinylpyrrolidone and the general organic dyes have a strong affinity. Sometimes this affinity even exceeds the dye and fiber binding force. That’s why polyvinylpyrrolidone also known as the LIQUID FIBER. During the process of synthetic fiber, add appropriate amount of povidone, the synthetic fibers can be evenly stained, as well as improving the coloring and dyeing depth. PVP chemicals can not only improve the dye ability of some fibers, but also its hygroscopicity, sunscreen and other properties, which can be quite effective for getting good quality and grade of synthetic fibers.
Before spinning, add 4% to 8% PVP to the molten polyamide, and then melt spinning in a low oxygen environment. The PVP K value is between 30~70.and the residual monomer content requires less than 0.1%.If the K value is less than 30,since the low molecular weight PVP and polyamide complex ability is poor, there will be some PVP dissolved in water in the water treatment process and can’t obtaining a high hygroscopic fiber finally. On the other hand, if the molecular weight for PVP over 70, molten melt viscosity increases, will cause spinning difficulties, and affecting production efficiency. Larger for PVP molecular weight, harder the fiber will be. Then the synthetic fiber product will not reach the requirements of soft and comfortable standard.
